No heating or no hot water
- Check the boiler display for a fault code and note it down.
- Check the pressure gauge. Most systems sit between 1 and 1.5 bar.
- Call Ralph with what you've found. He'll talk you through it and come out if it needs fixing.

Leak or burst pipe
- Turn off the water at the stopcock, usually under the kitchen sink.
- If water is near electrics, switch off the power at the fuse box.
- Call Ralph. He'll stop the leak and repair it properly.

- Write down the code and the boiler make and model.
- Don't keep resetting it. Repeated resets can hide the real fault.
- Call Ralph with the code. He'll often know what it means before he arrives.

- Call the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999.
- Open doors and windows. Don't use light switches, flames or anything electrical.
- Turn off the gas at the meter if you can. Once it's safe, Ralph can find and repair the fault.
